In IVF, egg and sperm are combined in the laboratory and the resulting embryo is transferred to the uterus. A cycle begins with ovarian stimulation and runs about three weeks to transfer, of which 10-12 days must be spent at the clinic. Egg freezing uses the same stimulation step and defers the transfer.

Treatments in this field

Egg Freezing
Collected eggs are vitrified and stored, preserving fertility so they can be thawed and fertilised later.
IVF Treatment
Eggs collected from stimulated ovaries are fertilised in the laboratory, and an embryo cultured for three to five days is transferred to the uterus.
