Eye procedures correct refractive error with a laser where corneal thickness and prescription stability allow; in cataract cases the clouded natural lens is replaced with an artificial one. Both take minutes under anaesthetic drops and you walk out the same day. Vision sharpens noticeably by the following morning.

Cataract Surgery
The clouded natural lens is broken up with ultrasound and removed, and a permanent intraocular lens is placed. Monofocal or multifocal lenses can be chosen.
LASIK Surgery
A thin corneal flap is lifted and the layer beneath reshaped with a laser to correct myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. It takes minutes per eye.
